Dr. Loh’s last position was Director of Strategic Growth Projects in the Earthmoving Division where he created and led the Natural Infrastructure Initiative (NII), a coalition of private companies and environmental organizations, to work on behalf of more investment in natural infrastructure.  A key outcome of this effort is a large-scale partnership between the NII and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to work on a number of natural infrastructure projects and initiatives.  Dr. Loh also helped write Sustainability into Caterpillar’s guiding core values. 

Prior to Caterpillar, Dr. Loh worked as the chief economist in a stock brokerage firm in Malaysia for a number of years.  He was also a member of the graduate research faculty in Kent State University, Ohio where he taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in economics and published many studies in economic journals.   

 Dr. Loh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (with Honors) from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and a Master of Arts in Economics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Type your paragraph here.

Dr. Eng Seng Loh has over thirty years of combined experience as a successful professional economist, strategist and sustainability expert in both the private sector and academia.  His skill sets include corporate growth strategy, analytics, innovation, risk management, process improvement and sustainability.  Dr. Loh is recently retired from Caterpillar Inc, the world’s largest manufacturer of construction and mining machines and engines, after having served in a number of different positions of rising responsibilities over a twenty-year career.  He directed the Caterpillar Corporate Strategy and Risk Management Group for several years during which he helped guide major corporate strategy review exercises that reset the company’s critical priorities at the enterprise level, and helped business units in the mining and construction segment to identify, study and implement growth opportunities.
